Outstanding ORCAH Award 2017 · 64-bit migration of a legacy C++ platform · DSL + transpiler prototype

Five years of C++ systems engineering in healthcare — the place I learned what “data other people can’t afford to get wrong” actually costs.

  • Designed and implemented enhancements to applications used by direct-care providers.
  • Led work in the migration of a massive legacy C++ codebase to 64-bit; built the development, CI and static-analysis tooling the team adopted.
  • Researched and prototyped a domain-specific language and its transpiler for clinical workflow definitions, and automated clinical documentation with a medical informaticist — the niche now occupied commercially by ambient-documentation products.
  • Outstanding ORCAH Award, the team’s annual recognition of excellence, 2017.
